Schools Closed for Kanwar Yatra in Pilgrimage City

All schools in the district will be closed from July 27 to August 2 due to the influx of Shiv devotees for Kanwar Yatra. District Magistrate Dhiraj Singh Garbiyal announced the closure to manage the expected increase in crowd over the next few days.

The pilgrimage began on Monday, with thousands of devotees arriving in the city to collect the sacred waters of the Ganga river.

District Magistrate Dhiraj Singh Garbiyal announced that both government and non-government schools, including Anganwadi centres from class 1 to 12, will be closed to manage the expected surge in crowds.
