West Bengal TMC Tables Resolution on NEET-UG Malpractices

The TMC in West Bengal introduced a resolution on NEET-UG, set for discussion on Wednesday. It criticizes the National Testing Agency for failing to conduct a fair exam and calls for state-conducted tests. The NDA government and NTA face protests over alleged malpractices in the May 5 exam.

The ruling TMC in West Bengal on Tuesday introduced a resolution regarding the NEET-UG issue, which will be discussed on Wednesday.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sovandeb Chattopadhyay moved the resolution. It condemns the National Testing Agency (NTA) for its alleged inability to ensure a free and fair examination and urges the state government to take over conducting joint entrance exams for public interest.

“Today the resolution was introduced. It will be up for discussion tomorrow. We hope to have a productive debate on how this examination system can be improved to become flawless,” said Chattopadhyay.

The Central NDA government and the NTA have been facing criticism and protests, both on the streets and in Parliament, over alleged significant malpractices, including question paper leaks, fraud, and impersonation in the May 5 NEET-UG exam.
