Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan declared on Thursday that the Supreme Court's decision on the NEET-UG matter is a condemnation of Congress' 'irresponsible attitude' and 'petty politics,' not a setback for students.
Pradhan vehemently criticized the Congress, labeling it as the 'father' of paper leaks and corruption. He noted that the Supreme Court found no systemic breach in the sanctity of the NEET exam. Pradhan questioned whether Congress trusts any institution, including the Supreme Court, suggesting that the decision is a reflection of the party's flawed approach rather than a student failure. The Minister specifically called out Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for paper leaks under Congress' rule in Rajasthan, accusing the party of hypocrisy and dishonesty.
The Supreme Court's dismissal of pleas for cancellation and re-testing of the NEET-UG 2024 exam came as a significant relief to the NDA government and the National Testing Agency (NTA), which had faced severe criticism and protests over alleged malpractices in the May 5 exam. Pradhan accused Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, of prioritizing personal and political gains over students' futures. He urged an end to damaging India's examination system and jeopardizing the students' future.
