Bihar Assembly Passes Appropriation Bill for 2024-25 Fiscal

The Bihar Assembly passed the Appropriation Bill, 2024, on Thursday, clearing a significant financial allocation of Rs 47,512 crore for the upcoming fiscal year. This budgetary legislation was introduced by Finance Minister Samrat Choudhary and was approved via a voice vote.

Choudhary outlined that the funds will be distributed across various state departments to support multiple projects throughout the financial year 2024-25.

Highlighting the education sector, Education Minister Sunil Kumar revealed an additional allocation of Rs 10,391.3 crore. He noted that around 1.80 lakh students in government schools benefit from improved facilities and a conducive academic environment. The state has also recruited 1.73 lakh teachers for approximately 74,000 schools, with a special focus on girls' education.
