Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary on Saturday praised the dynamism of the Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) scheme, calling it a reflection of India's national spirit and a crucial step towards a Viksit Bharat.

Speaking at the zonal JSS conference at Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Chaudhary emphasized the government's focus on 'speed', 'skill', 'saturation', and 'convergence' as essential mantras for the skill development ecosystem.

'The real impact of JSS’s vision is witnessed by the people on the ground,' said Chaudhary, noting that 82% of the scheme’s beneficiaries are women and individuals from marginalized communities. The scheme's history, dating back to its inception as Shramik Vidyapeeth in 1967, underscores its role in fostering self-employment and wage employment among socio-economically backward groups.

Chaudhary also highlighted the surge in demand for skills in the electronics and automotive sectors, particularly for EV technicians, driven by initiatives like Lakhpati Didi, PM Jan Dhan, and PM Vishwakarma. 'These initiatives are uplifting women and other segments of society through modern technology and financial support,' he said.
