An air of uncertainty has enveloped IAS aspirants in Delhi after three students died in a rain-flooded basement of Rau's IAS Study Circle. Following the tragedy, 13 coaching centers in Old Rajinder Nagar were sealed by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Sunday.

Prominent centres such as IAS Gurukul, Chahal Academy, and Topper's Academy are among those affected. The closures have left students in disarray, grappling with disrupted study schedules and shuttered libraries. "We are still waiting for the government or the administration to address our concerns," said Sameer, a UPSC aspirant.

The incident has reignited discussions on the adequacy of safety measures at coaching institutes. Mukherjee Nagar, another hub for IAS coaching, had seen a similar spotlight last year after a fire incident highlighted serious safety infractions. Despite promises to crack down on violations, students and teachers assert that little has changed on the ground.
