Uncertainty looms over UPSC coaching centres in Mukherjee Nagar and Rajinder Nagar as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) intensifies its sealing drive against illegal basement operations. Classes have been suspended, delaying the start of new batches and leaving students worried about their preparation for upcoming exams.

The situation has prompted many outstation students to consider returning home to save on rent, while calls for online classes grow louder. 'I am from Deoghar in Jharkhand. Since the incident, no classes have been held, and no information is being provided regarding the classes,' said Kuldeep, a UPSC aspirant.

The MCD's crackdown follows a tragic incident where three civil services aspirants lost their lives due to basement flooding in Rajinder Nagar. The civic body has since expanded its efforts, sealing multiple basements across the city. Coaching centres remain uncertain about when they will be able to resume operations.
