Tamil Nadu CM Launches Scholarship Scheme for Boys in Government Schools
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin announced the launch of the 'Tamizh Pudhalvan' scheme, providing Rs 1,000 monthly assistance to boys pursuing higher education after completing schooling in government institutions. This initiative is set to benefit around 3 lakh students from marginalised backgrounds and will be implemented at a cost of Rs 360 crore.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin announced on Wednesday the upcoming launch of the 'Tamizh Pudhalvan' scheme in Coimbatore on August 9. This initiative will provide Rs 1,000 per month to boys who pursue higher education after completing their studies in government-run schools, benefiting approximately 3 lakh students from marginalised backgrounds at a cost of Rs 360 crore.
The Chief Minister highlighted the existing 'Pudhumai Penn' scheme, which supports 2.73 lakh girl students with monthly assistance of Rs 1,000. Stalin emphasized the government's commitment to educational schemes aimed at helping underprivileged students achieve their academic goals.
At an event in his Kolathur Assembly Constituency, Stalin distributed tuition fee bags and spoke about developing Kolathur into a model constituency. Additionally, the government has been working on implementing '10 schemes per legislator in an Assembly constituency,' a unique initiative aimed at addressing the needs of all constituencies, including those with opposition party MLAs.
