Congress MP Anto Antony raised serious concerns in the Lok Sabha, claiming that India's education sector is in a 'deep crisis' due to an atmosphere of fear compelling students to leave the country.
Participating in a debate on the Education Ministry's budget, Antony criticized the lack of foresight and vision, noting India's absence in the top 100 global universities. He cited the Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, highlighting that the atmosphere of fear affects educational institutions as well.
Antony emphasized the need for earmarked funds to elevate Indian universities to global standards and called for the preservation of India's social fabric, transcending communal divisions. He also condemned the surge in students migrating abroad, attributing the brain drain to current governance.
