Tamil Nadu Shines as India's Higher Education Powerhouse in NIRF Rankings 2024
Tamil Nadu has emerged as the top destination for higher education in India according to the NIRF Rankings 2024. The state's Chief Minister M K Stalin highlighted that Tamil Nadu boasts the highest number of top-ranked higher educational institutions in the country. This achievement is attributed to the state's flagship educational schemes and its focus on quality education.

Tamil Nadu has once again proven its dominance in the field of higher education, securing the highest number of top-ranked institutions in the NIRF Rankings 2024. Chief Minister M K Stalin celebrated this milestone, crediting the state's innovative schemes such as #NaanMudhalvan, #PudhumaiPenn, and #TamilPuthalvan.
According to the National Institutional Ranking Framework released on August 12 by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Tamil Nadu is home to 18 of the top 100 institutions in India, with 22 of its universities featuring in the top 100 and 10 state-funded universities listed among the top 50.
Youth Welfare and Sports Development Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin also lauded the state's achievements, attributing the success to the Dravidian Model focus on higher education. He expressed confidence that Tamil Nadu's educational sector would continue to soar to new heights.
