Jharkhand Competitive Exam: Malpractice Foiled and Internet Suspended

The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission conducted a competitive examination state-wide. Despite an attempted malpractice incident in Dhanbad, the exam proceeded peacefully. The state government suspended mobile internet services to ensure fairness. Over 6.40 lakh aspirants registered for the exams. Two suspects were detained for further investigation.

The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission's competitive examination went off without major issues across the state on Saturday, save for one malpractice attempt in Dhanbad, officials confirmed. Police detained two individuals suspected of involving in the foul play.

Dhanbad Superintendent of Police Hrudeep P Janardhanan reported the detention at a hotel in Jharia, recovering three mobile phones, ATM cards, a blank cheque, and a list of examinees. The interrogations are ongoing to check if they belong to a malpractice syndicate.

In an effort to maintain exam integrity, the state suspended mobile internet from 8 am to 1:30 pm during the Jharkhand General Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination, with the prohibition expected to continue on Sunday. Fixed-line voice calls and broadband internet remained active.
