In a recent appointment, Jamia Millia Islamia has named Muhammad Mahtab Alam Rizvi as its officiating registrar, following an official notification released on Friday.

Rizvi, who holds the position of Honorary Director at the university's Nelson Mandela Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution, steps into the role previously held by M. Nasim Haider, the deputy registrar-I.

With a robust experience of over 20 years in teaching and research, Rizvi specializes in international relations and security issues, particularly emphasizing India's strategic ties with West Asia and North Africa, as well as Iran's political landscape and nuclear program.
