Hefty Fine Levied on Maharashtra School for Rule Violations

A private school in Maharashtra's Latur district has been fined approximately Rs 20 lakh for alleged rule violations. The block education officer issued the fine and warned of potential shutdown. The fine stems from missing permissions under the Right to Education Act.

A private school in Latur district, Maharashtra, faces a steep penalty of Rs 20 lakh for purportedly breaking regulations, an official disclosed Thursday.

The fine was imposed by the block education officer who instructed the Ambajogai Road-based institution to either remit the amount immediately or cease operations altogether. Despite attempts to reach the school principal, calls remained unanswered.

Reportedly, the Narayana E-Techno School had been under scrutiny since a July inspection the previous year, revealing a lack of necessary permissions under the Right to Education Act. Block Education Officer Nivratti Jadhav confirmed that if the fine remains unpaid, the school's approval might be withdrawn, and legal proceedings could be initiated.
