North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has made a strong call for the development of a modern military force capable of responding to any war threats. His statement came during a visit to the Kang Kon Military Academy, as reported by state media outlet KCNA on Wednesday.

Kim's visit follows North Korea's recent deployment of thousands of soldiers to support Russia in its ongoing conflict with Ukraine. He also inspected the Kim Il Sung University of Politics, underlining the themes of military loyalty and sacrifice as crucial elements. According to South Korea's intelligence, these inspections may be part of strategies to deploy further military support to Russia.

While at the military academy, Kim expressed dissatisfaction with the institution's poorly managed educational facilities, which he deemed insufficient for meeting the ruling party's standards of modernity. He outlined essential upgrades and a refocus on practical training, aiming to provide students with real-world war experiences and proficiency in advanced weapons technology, KCNA reported.
