The Indian government is set to revolutionize the cooperative sector with the establishment of the Tribhuvan Sahkari University, aiming to equip both new entrants and current employees with critical skills. Union Minister Krishan Pal emphasized the institution's focus on capacity building, as he addressed the Lok Sabha.
Introducing the Tribhuvan Sahkari University Bill last February, the government highlighted the fragmented and inadequate current educational infrastructure. The new university promises to bolster the cooperative workforce with comprehensive training programs.
The bill seeks to create a standardized framework for education, training, and research, ensuring a continuous supply of professionally qualified personnel for various roles within the cooperative societies, from management to technical operations.
