Tamil Nadu Steps Up: Safely Bringing Students Home Amidst Border Tensions

Tamil Nadu is orchestrating the safe return of 52 students from Jammu and Kashmir amidst border tensions. The students, pursuing various studies, faced difficulties due to the India-Pakistan conflict. Chief Minister M K Stalin is actively coordinating efforts, with helpline numbers set up for support.

In response to escalating border tensions, Tamil Nadu has initiated efforts to safely return 52 of its students pursuing higher education in Jammu and Kashmir. The students, engaged in fields such as agriculture and engineering, have found themselves stranded due to recent developments between India and Pakistan.

The state's Chief Minister, M K Stalin, had previously facilitated the return of tourists stranded post the April 22 terrorist attack, and is now focusing on securing the students' safe passage home. Authorities, including Pudukottai district additional collector Aftab Rasool and Tamil Nadu House Commissioner Ashish Kumar, have been tasked with ensuring communication and coordination.

The students, facing canceled air services, are being urged to await resumed flights. Meanwhile, four students on an educational tour have already embarked for Delhi by road, from where they will fly to Chennai. The state has established a 24/7 helpline to assist those in need during the crisis.
