Unity Against Ragging: Institutions Unite for Anti-Ragging Week

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has instructed medical institutes to commemorate August 12 as anti-ragging day, coinciding with a week-long observance. This initiative follows the University Grants Commission's (UGC) decision to enhance ragging awareness, outlining various activities and encouraging institutional involvement.

In a recent public notice, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has mandated all its medical institutions to observe August 12 as anti-ragging day, followed by a week-long campaign from August 12 to 18 aimed at eradicating ragging practices.

This initiative aligns with the University Grants Commission's (UGC) 2023 directive, which earmarks these dates for raising anti-ragging awareness. The UGC has instituted stringent regulations against ragging, requiring educational institutions to adhere to these rules for effective implementation and compliance.

The UGC has further bolstered its anti-ragging efforts through media campaigns and awareness activities, urging institutions to engage students via competitions, social media campaigns, and interactive sessions to reinforce the anti-ragging message.
