In a troubling incident, a government school teacher in Uttar Pradesh has been suspended following serious allegations of promoting obscenity among students, according to education department officials.
On Thursday, a large group of concerned parents gathered at Abhiya Upper Primary School in the Suryawan block to protest against the assistant teacher, Satyaprakash Gautam, aged 50. The Basic Shiksha Adhikari, Vikas Chaudhary, reported that Gautam encouraged pupils, particularly those in grades 6 to 8, to discuss sexually explicit topics and indulge in inappropriate gestures, as detailed by the protesting parents.
Upon learning about the protest, Chaudhary directed Yashwant Singh, the Block Education Officer, to launch an immediate investigation. Meanwhile, Gautam reportedly absconded from the school premises. Educational authorities confirmed that similar accusations were raised against him in the past, prompting a formal suspension and initiation of departmental inquiry.
