In a disturbing turn of events, authorities have launched investigations into allegations of abuse against school staff in separate incidents at two local schools.
At a private school on Sunkadakatte, Magadi Road, a fifth-grade student was allegedly beaten and confined in a room by principal Rakesh Kumar and teacher Chandrika on October 14. The alleged assault stemmed from issues related to the student's attendance.
Similarly, in Chitradurga's Nayakanahatti village, a traditional 'Pathashala' teacher, Veeresh Hiremath, reportedly physically assaulted another fifth-grade student, an incident captured and shared widely on social media. The education department has initiated an inquiry into both incidents to ensure student safety.
