Record Pass Rates in West Bengal's Pioneering Semester-Based Higher Secondary Exams

The West Bengal Higher Secondary Council recorded a 93.72% pass rate in its groundbreaking semester-format exams. Topping districts was South 24 Parganas with 96.72%. Students Aditya Narayan Jana and Pritam Ballav led with 98.97%. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee praised efforts and encouraged better results in future semesters.

In an unprecedented move in India's education system, the West Bengal Higher Secondary Council has successfully implemented a semester-based examination format, with an impressive 93.72% of over 645,000 candidates passing the third-semester exams.

This landmark achievement comes under the new State Education Policy, with districts like South 24 Parganas registering a high pass rate of 96.72%. Aditya Narayan Jana and Pritam Ballav, students from Purulia Ramakrishna Mission, secured the top spots with an identical score of 98.97%.

The introduction of OMR sheets and other security features ensured a smooth exam process, with only three cases of unfair practices reported. Officials, including Education Minister Bratya Basu, expressed optimism for future semesters, urging students to continue showcasing Bengal's rich cultural and educational heritage.
