In a significant move, private schools across Delhi have unveiled their criteria for nursery admissions for the 2026-27 academic year, with proximity to the school being the dominant factor. Some institutions have tasked distance with as many as 80 points out of a possible 100, highlighting its importance in the selection process.

This year, the Indraprastha International School in Dwarka has assigned 55 points for applicants residing within 0-12 km, giving higher preference to local applicants. Tagore International School in East of Kailash similarly weights the 'status of the child' and geographical proximity alongside sibling, alumni, and staff ward categories.

The Directorate of Education has laid down a comprehensive schedule for the application process, emphasizing adherence to transparent practices.
