In a significant development, the Telangana government has entered a landmark agreement with Deakin University of Australia to establish a Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence. Described as the first of its kind in India, this initiative marks a strategic move in skill development within advanced AI capabilities.
State IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu announced the collaboration alongside Australia's Minister for International Education, Julian Hill. The Centre of Excellence is slated to be integrated into the anticipated AI University at Telangana's 'Future City,' signifying a robust leap in the state's AI aspirations.
The partnership aims to craft not just academic graduates but globally competitive AI professionals, supporting research and skill development across diverse sectors including governance, healthcare, and IT. Sridhar Babu emphasized the importance of Telangana's innovation-friendly ecosystem in further bolstering the state's technological landscape.
