Tensions Rise in Patteeswaram School: Class Rivalry Leads to Assault
A Class XII student at a government school in Patteeswaram was seriously injured after being allegedly attacked by a group of Class XI students. Frequent quarrels between the classes reportedly preceded this incident. Police have detained 14 Class XI students in connection with the assault.

Tensions escalated at the Government Arignar Anna Model Higher Secondary School in Patteeswaram as a Class XII student sustained serious injuries following an alleged assault by Class XI peers. Officers reported frequent clashes between the two classes had been occurring in recent days.
The altercation took place on Friday at Therodum Keezhaveethi, where more than 14 Class XI students allegedly attacked the older student, using a wooden log, as police are investigating further.
The injured student's parents rushed to the scene and took him to the Kumbakonam Government Hospital for first aid before transferring him to a private facility in Thanjavur. Meanwhile, Patteeswaram Police have detained the implicated students in a juvenile home.
