A Zilla Parishad school teacher in Nanded, identified as Anant Ramcharan Varma, faced suspension on Monday after a video showing him dancing while intoxicated inside a classroom was widely circulated online, an official reported.
The incident, which took place at the ZP primary school in Shekapur in Mahur taluka, triggered an inquiry by the education department. The video surfaced on December 5, prompting swift action.
According to an official report from the Block Education Officer, Varma was confirmed to be under the influence of alcohol. As a result, Meghna Kawli, the chief executive officer of Nanded ZP, suspended him for violating discipline and the Maharashtra Zilla Parishad District Services (Conduct) Rules 1967. Varma's suspension means his headquarters will be the primary education department of Nanded Zilla Parishad.
