The Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital (SNMMCH) has annulled the MBBS admission of a candidate from Uttar Pradesh. Officials allege the use of a fraudulent Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificate.
Dr. Ganesh Kumar, SNMMCH's admission in-charge, confirmed the termination. An FIR has also been filed against the Maharajganj-based student at the Saraidhela police station.
The candidate gained entry to SNMMCH on December 4 via NEET under the EWS quota with a certificate from Jharkhand's Giridih district. On December 5, Giridih authorities voided the document after review. The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECE) has been updated on the resultant vacancy. Notably, this is the second such nullification in the 2025-26 academic session.
