The Delhi government has outlined new guidelines to streamline the implementation of the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Act. This move comes after the Supreme Court questioned the clarity of the new fee regulation law.

According to a Gazette notification released on Sunday, all schools must establish a school-level fee regulation committee (SLFRC) within 10 days. Schools with pre-existing committees will have them recognized under the current guidelines. Schools are required to propose fee structures for 2026-27 and the following two years, which will be subject to approval under the Act's provisions.

District fee appellate committees (DFACs) are to be set up within each district within 30 days to mediate fee-related disputes. Interim measures for 2025-26 prohibit schools from charging over previous fees pending new regulations. The notification also addresses transition gaps in fee adjustments, emphasizing accountability and adherence to the approved fee laws.
