Students of a private school in East Delhi face being barred from taking their exams due to alleged outstanding fees. Parents of the students argue that they have not paid the increased fees and were issued a notice stating their children would no longer be enrolled under the Delhi School Education Rules.
The school’s notice, dated March 7, cited Rule 35 allowing the removal of students over unpaid fees. It also mentioned that unaided private institutions do not need prior approval to set fees for a new academic year, referencing various court judgments to support their stance.
Families of the affected students were informed that their children would be removed from the school’s enrollment list from March 9 if the fees remain unpaid. The school has advised parents not to send their children to attend classes after this date unless the dues are settled.
