BJP leader Jahanzaib Sirwal has called on Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to reassess a controversial proposal by the University of Jammu to remove Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and Allama Muhammad Iqbal from the MA political science syllabus.
The university's committee, which suggested the removals, cited the figures' connections to the 'two-nation theory' and their stature in Pakistan. Protesters, however, argue it risks eroding India's intellectual legacy.
In his appeal, Sirwal highlighted the significance of preserving educational heritage and aligning the curriculum with India's civilizational values, as outlined in the National Education Policy-2020.
