West Bengal Education Board Slams Fake Circular on Semester System

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education dismissed a fake notification claiming the 2027 semester system was scrapped. The Council clarified the notice was not genuine and urged reliance on official channels for updates. An FIR has been lodged to address this misinformation.

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education has urgently addressed a fraudulent notification circulating on social media. The fake notice falsely claimed that the Council has scrapped the semester system slated for 2027, opting instead to revert to the traditional annual examination system, misleading students and educational institutions.

Senior officials from the Council confirmed that no such decision was made. "We categorically state that the notice circulated on social media is fake and has not been issued by the council. Students, guardians, and schools are advised not to be misled by such misinformation," stated a senior WBCHSE official. The Council is taking the matter seriously and has filed a police report against the perpetrators.

To prevent further confusion, the Council urges stakeholders to only trust official communications via its authorized channels, such as its website, for higher secondary exam updates. Two semester exams per year remain the established plan for Class 12 students.
