Highlighting the severe heatwave conditions, Sivankutty pointed out the risks associated with forcing children to attend classes during this period. He emphasized that enforcing attendance during this break infringes on the fundamental and human rights of students.

The minister referenced past directives from the Child Rights Commission and legal rulings backing the enforcement of vacations, reiterating that the ban applies to all educational institutions, including government, aided, CBSE, and ICSE schools. Sivankutty instructed education department officials to vigilantly oversee compliance and take action against violators.
