The Tamil Nadu government has introduced a round-the-clock helpline ahead of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) scheduled for May 3. Aimed at assisting students with mental health support, this initiative is part of the state's commitment to ensuring the well-being of young medical aspirants.

According to a statement from the state secretariat, 22.79 lakh students across India have registered for the NEET, including 1.5 lakh from Tamil Nadu. The helpline, under the 'Natpudan Ungalodu' (With You in Friendship) initiative, offers free mental health counseling services via telephone.

Students and parents are encouraged to use the helpline numbers 14416 or 104 for 'Tele-counseling,' available round-the-clock. The service, managed by trained mental health counselors and medical professionals, ensures students receive the necessary support without any cost.
