The Directorate of Education (DoE) in Delhi has stepped in to regulate fee collection methods practiced by private, unaided, and recognized schools in the capital.

This move comes after numerous complaints from parents who claimed schools were obligating them to make advance payments in bimonthly or quarterly instalments, imposing undue financial burdens.

Schools have been warned of severe penalties, including the potential loss of recognition, for any breaches, in a bid to ensure equitable educational access and alleviate family financial stress, particularly for those in low and middle-income brackets.
