Appointments Amidst Controversy: NTA Strengthens Ranks

The Personnel Ministry has appointed two joint secretaries and two joint directors to the National Testing Agency (NTA) amid ongoing investigations into the NEET-UG paper leak scandal. Nearly 23 lakh candidates were affected after the exam was canceled on May 3. The CBI is probing the incident.

The Centre has taken decisive action by appointing new joint secretaries and directors to the National Testing Agency (NTA) as it faces scrutiny over the recent NEET-UG paper leak.

Anuja Bapat and Ruchita Vij have been appointed as joint secretaries, while Akash Jain and Aditya Rajendra Bhojgadhiya take on the role of joint directors. These appointments are expected to bring about needed change as the agency comes under the scanner.

The NEET-UG exam cancellation on May 3 affected nearly 23 lakh aspirants nationwide, prompting the Central Bureau of Investigation to register a case and accelerate the inquiry into the breach.
