A 28-year-old postgraduate student at the government-run Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College in Indore, Aman Patel, allegedly committed suicide early Monday morning by leaping from the sixth floor of his hostel building.
Originally from Jabalpur, Patel was pursuing an MD in Medicine at the institution. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. at the boys' hostel in Sanyogitaganj area, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police Tushar Singh. Currently, there are no eyewitness accounts or a suicide note available to explain Patel's actions.
Police are interviewing students residing in the hostel and individuals familiar with Patel in a bid to unearth any indications of stress or distress preceding the incident. The body was sent for post-mortem examination to further elucidate the circumstances surrounding Patel's tragic death. Investigations remain ongoing as authorities probe all potential aspects.
