An education official in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district has been implicated in a bribery scandal, highlighting corruption in government school infrastructure projects.
Pradeep Kumar Khare, the District Education Centre's project coordinator, was apprehended after allegedly demanding a 5% bribe of the total Rs 17 lakh project cost from assistant engineer Dilip Sadhav.
Accused of accepting Rs 1 lakh as an initial bribe payment, Khare faces charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Investigations into the case continue, as authorities have yet to arrest him.
