A joint team from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur has commenced an inquiry into recent disruptions experienced in the CBSE portal. These glitches, which spanned approximately two days, caused significant difficulties, including issues related to payment failures and answer sheet uploads, prompting the need for a thorough investigation.
In an interview with PTI, IIT Madras Director V Kamakoti emphasized the importance of identifying the underlying causes of these disruptions. The team is exploring various potential factors, such as technical failures or even cyberattacks, to prevent similar incidents in the future. The CBSE portal has reportedly remained stable for more than 72 hours following the disruptions.
The glitches surfaced as CBSE initiated its On-Screen Marking (OMS) system, a move aimed at increasing transparency in the evaluation process. This system allows students to view their assessed answer sheets, thus providing clarity on their scores. Despite initial challenges, experts are optimistic about resolving these issues and maintaining a robust digital platform.
