JNU Grants Extended Hostel Stay for Final-Year Master's Students Through June

In response to student appeals, Jawaharlal Nehru University has announced an extension of hostel accommodations for final-year Master's students until June 30, accommodating their needs ahead of the UGC-NET examination. This move, deemed a 'special dispensation,' will be granted based on individual cases guided by established university conditions.

A university circular emphasized that terminal students typically vacate by May 31, but exceptions can be made. Students must submit detailed requests and clear outstanding dues to qualify for the extension. They are required to bear additional mess costs and acknowledge that this new arrangement will not set a precedent for the future. The Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union has voiced its support for this decision, urging affected students to seek assistance if they encounter issues in securing the extension.
