ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel's Plan Under PM-SETU Gets Green Light

This marks the first strategic plan approved under the scheme, leading Andhra Pradesh to partner with industry for vocational advancement.

The National Steering Committee has approved ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India's strategic investment proposal for the Visakhapatnam ITI Cluster, a milestone under the PM-SETU initiative in Andhra Pradesh. This marks the first plan cleared, setting Andhra Pradesh as a forerunner in implementing industry partnerships through this scheme.
This development took place at the third meeting of the National Steering Committee, spearheaded by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Andhra Pradesh now leads as the first state to integrate an Anchor Industry Partner, marking a major step towards realizing the industry-led Hub-and-Spoke model targeted by the scheme.
Moving forward, more strategic plans are anticipated to gain approval, aiming to reimagine vocational education and training across India by 2047. The initiative envisions transforming 1,000 Government ITIs through progressive industry engagement, modernizing infrastructures, and enhancing employability outcomes.
