The Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG) 2026 took place successfully on a Sunday after being rescheduled due to the Eid al-Adha festivities. The National Testing Agency (NTA) managed the exams smoothly at numerous centres both domestically and internationally.

The examination unfolded in two shifts. Shift-I took place in 334 centres with 70,266 candidates, including an international centre for two overseas participants. Shift-II occurred at 358 centres, accommodating 80,872 candidates, among them three Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates and two international centres welcoming 30 overseas candidates.

Despite earlier delays attributed to technical glitches impacting Shift-I, leading to rescheduling for 3,765 candidates, the NTA ensured a seamless process. New dates have been declared for the postponed exams from late May, though the CUET-UG continues to support a unified admissions process under National Education Policy guidelines.
