ICFAI University updates curriculum with latest technologies

Academic Council of ICFAI University, Jharkhand, in its 21^st meeting, approved major changes to program structures and updates to Curriculum and syllabus of all courses for 2019-20 academic year so that graduating students are made job-ready and face future challenges in industry and society.

Speaking to media persons, Prof O R S Rao, Vice-Chancellor of the University said , " All industries are getting impacted by latest Digital Technologies like the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, BlockChain, Cloud Computing, Big Data Analytics and Cyber Security Challenges, our University will be equipping the students of all programs (including non-IT programs) with knowledge and skills in all these emerging areas so that they can meet the future industry expectations from the graduating students". "In Mechanical and Mining disciplines, all courses will be aligned with Industry 4.0 requirements, whereas in IT-related programs like BCA, BTech, MCA etc, we will be offering courses like Cloud 2.0, BlockChain, AI/ML, Python programming etc. We will also be offering inter-disciplinary electives like Financial Technologies, HR Analytics, Cyber Journalism, Cyber Laws etc. to Commerce, Journalism, Law and Management students so that they can understand the application of new technologies in different fields", added Prof Rao.

"In order enable the students to understand the various career opportunities in various sectors and choose careers in accordance with their own interests and personal strengths & weaknesses, we will be offering a semester-long course on "Career Development" for all programs, wherein the students are individually counselled and prepared for career options like Higher Studies, Corporate Careers and Entrepreneurship" , explained Prof Rao.
