Netflix’s romantic drama Virgin River could successfully engage the audience for the last four seasons. The latest season left fans with questions about the fate of several characters and their relationships. Virgin River Season 5 was official announced earlier.

Filming for Virgin River Season 5 began in July 2022, so we can expect its release by mid 2023. The guess is based on the previous release records. The first three seasons were dropped in December 2019, November 2020, and July 2021 respectively. And the fourth season came in July 2022. Therefore logically we have to wait for 2023 July.

Virgin River is adapted from the Robyn Carr series of novels. It follows a young midwife and nurse practitioner called Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge). She moves out of the big city to a small rustic town in Northern California to start a new job. She wished it would be the perfect place to start fresh and leave her painful memories behind. But soon she’d come to terms with the fact that living in a small town has its own pros and cons. She must learn to heal herself before she can truly make the Virgin River her home.

Virgin River Season 4 ends with Charmaine (Lauren Hammersly) revealing that Jack (Martin Henderson) is not the father of her twins. Plus, it is also revealed that the real honcho is a woman named Melissa, who is the sister of Nick (Keith MacHechnie), an investor in Jack’s new business.

The story also piques the viewer’s curiosity about whether Vince (played by Steve Bacic) is dead or just unconscious after Preacher kills him. Season four also reveals Doc's grandson Denny is suffering from Huntington’s disease (which the NHS describes as "a condition that stops parts of the brain working properly over time"). It’s really sad he doesn’t want to plan a better future with Lizzie. Season 4 also gives a glimpse of Doc's grandchild and Jack's shooter.

Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson spoke to several media about the upcoming plot of the series. Jack will try to heal himself mentally and focus on the family and the babies.

In reaction to the baby news, Breckendridge said to TV Guide "I think Mel feels, obviously, lied to and betrayed," Breckendridge said. "I'm sure there's an underlying sense of relief that she probably will never talk about with Jack. I think Jack is absolutely devastated because he really invested in these children. It's crushing for him."

She also revealed that twins' paternity might cause some trouble in their life. "It's just trying to cope with it. “

"I think that they have dealt with so much already in the very short time that they have known each other and started their relationship. I am sure it's going to create some tension between them."

“I am sure it's going to create some tension between them," she explained. "It's just trying to cope with it. The reality of that is huge. If someone lies to you and says five months into her pregnancy, 'Oh no, by the way, they aren't yours.' That is huge, massive. So they're going to have to deal with that, as anybody would, but I don't think it's going to damage their relationship," Breckendridge explained.

Speaking to Glamour, Martin Henderson describes the relationship between Jack and Mel will be much deeper and more mature in the upcoming season. He also defines the character Brady (played by Benjamin Hollingsworth) by saying “Brady, as a character, definitely has a lot of redemption in season 4. I think there's even more in season 5. That'll definitely color their relationship. I think it's wrong, though, if Brady is all of a sudden just this good guy. I don't buy that he's just going to turn over. It feels trite. It's more interesting to have a character that he can't help himself.”
