Veteran actress Shabana Azmi has voiced her support for actor-politician Kangana Ranaut following an alleged altercation with a CISF constable at Chandigarh airport. Azmi, in a post on X, condemned the security personnel for allegedly slapping Ranaut and asserted that officials must not take the law into their own hands.

Ranaut released a video on Thursday claiming the constable hit her in the face and insulted her during a security check. The incident supposedly stemmed from the constable’s displeasure with Ranaut's stance on the farmer protests. This fracas took place shortly after Ranaut was elected to the Lok Sabha from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.

The CISF has since suspended the implicated personnel, Kulwinder Kaur, and launched an investigation into the matter. Additionally, a court of inquiry has been ordered by the CISF to further examine the incident.
