In an unfortunate incident, a woman trekker from Maharashtra lost her life while trekking to Hamta Pass in Himachal Pradesh's Manali. The deceased, identified as Shabnam Mohammad Aslam Ansari from Thane, encountered health issues midway through the trek and was immediately taken to a hospital.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Manali, K D Singh confirmed the incident on Tuesday. Despite urgent medical attention, doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival. Local mountaineering instructor Subhash, who was part of the group, said the woman was trekking with 33 others, including porters and instructors.

Police have sent her body for a postmortem to determine the exact cause of death. Singh reiterated the importance of adhering to safety measures during such treks.
