Three-time Member of Parliament from Jodhpur, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, officially assumed his role as Union Culture and Tourism Minister on Tuesday. Shekhawat emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is undergoing a significant transition, shedding its colonial past and reviving its illustrious cultural heritage.

Upon taking charge, Shekhawat highlighted India's transformation over the past decade, attributing its new global identity and image to consistent efforts. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue this progress and strive for further cultural and tourism advancements.

Born in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, Shekhawat has served in the 16th, 17th, and 18th Lok Sabha. As India's cultural and tourism minister, he vows to promote the nation's rich heritage and enhance its tourism potential, aiming to weave culture into the fabric of a developed Bharat.
