In a heart-wrenching scene, the first casket bearing the remains of Arun Babu touched down at Cochin International Airport on Friday, marking the tragic homecoming for 45 Indians who perished in a devastating fire in Kuwait. Families, engulfed in grief, leaned on each other for solace in this moment of immense sorrow.

An Indian Air Force flight carrying the bodies landed at the airport around 10.30 am. The caskets were then transported after security processes including customs, immigration, and health office approvals. They were finally brought out at 11.30 am, leading to an outbreak of loud cries as families identified their loved ones.

Political figures, including Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Union Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh, accompanied the bodies from Kuwait. They, along with other leaders, paid their respects to the deceased, offering a brief moment of consolation to the mourning families. The bodies were later placed in ambulances, each followed closely by Kerala police, who accompanied them to their hometowns, marking the end of a solemn and sorrowful day.
