Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday lauded yoga as India's greatest contribution to humanity. Speaking in Ahmedabad on the 10th International Day of Yoga, Shah remarked, 'This Yoga Day holds special significance as it marks a decade since its inception.'
In his address, Shah praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's successful proposal at the UN General Assembly in 2014 to designate June 21 as International Yoga Day. 'Today, yoga is embraced globally, with people not only learning but also teaching it,' he noted.
He further emphasized yoga's role in promoting a medicine-free lifestyle and connecting individuals with their inner strength, echoing the ancient Indian maxim 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,' meaning the world is one family.
