Television actors Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya experienced an unfortunate turn of events while on holiday in Florence. The couple lost their passports, cash, and cards when thieves smashed the window of their vehicle parked at a resort near the popular Italian tourist destination.
The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, but the actors only discovered the theft later in the evening. Speaking to PTI over the phone from Florence on Thursday, Tripathi explained, 'We were inside the hotel property, assuming our belongings in the car were safe. By the time we realized we had been looted, it was already evening.'
Despite the setback, Tripathi reported that the hotel staff had been supportive, though the resort lacked CCTV coverage. The actors made a video and took photos as proof. They are in the process of filing an FIR and are hopeful of receiving help from the Indian Embassy. 'We are avid travellers, and while the situation isn't ideal, we are keeping our spirits high,' Tripathi added.
