Grammy Award winners Lonnie Park and Ricky Kej have come together to celebrate Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport through music. Park, moved by the concept, offered to sing the 'Airport Anthem' for free, revealed Kej at the launch event on July 19.
Kej shared that Park was inspired by his visit to Terminal 2 of the airport last December, which he likened to a scene from James Cameron's 'Avatar.' The event also saw the Kannada version of the anthem performed by Siddhartha Belmannu.
The airport anthem is now available on major music platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. The launch coincided with a major Microsoft outage, causing passenger delays, but the anthem provided a silver lining for those affected.
