Devotees Flock to UP Shiva Temples for Shravan Jalabhishek Ritual

A large number of devotees gathered in various Shiva temples across Uttar Pradesh on the second Monday of Shravan to perform Jalabhishek. Major temples like Kashi Vishwanath, Siddhanath, and Siddhapeeth Nageshwar Nath saw significant crowds. The administration's arrangements were highly appreciated. Security measures were enforced in Prayagraj's Mankameshwar Mahadev temple.

On the second Monday of the holy month of Shravan, a significant number of devotees performed 'Jalabhishek' in Shiva temples across Uttar Pradesh. This ritual involves offering water to the deity.

Devotees flocked to notable temples such as Varanasi's Kashi Vishwanath, Ayodhya's Siddhanath, and Prayagraj's Shiva temple. 'Shravan is a very sacred month during which devotees come and perform Jalabhishek,' said Nishant Mishra, a devotee in Varanasi.

People gathered in large numbers at the Siddhapeeth Nageshwar Nath temple in Ayodhya early in the day to offer water to Lord Shiva. Attendees appreciated the administrative arrangements. 'There is a huge crowd, but the management is really good,' noted one devotee. In Prayagraj, devotees were seen offering water to Lord Shiva in temples throughout the city. Security measures including barricades and police were in place at the Mankameshwar Mahadev temple to ensure safety.

In Ghaziabad, the Dudheshwar temple also witnessed a large influx of devotees. The month of Shravan, which began on July 22, will see the celebration of Shravan Shivratri on August 2.
