Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise is set to make a significant appearance at the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics on August 11.

The action icon, famous for hits such as the 'Mission Impossible' series, 'Top Gun,' and 'Edge of Tomorrow,' will reportedly perform a breathtaking stunt at the event as the Olympics flag is transferred to the 2028 host city, Los Angeles, according to Deadline sources.

“Expect a major Hollywood production,” said the source. The specifics remain undisclosed, but the Olympic flag will be handed from Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.

TMZ initially reported Cruise’s involvement, claiming that the actor, renowned for his daring stunts, is planning an 'epic stunt' for the occasion.

According to the plan, Cruise will rappel from the top of Stade de France to the stadium field, carrying the official Olympic flag.

Cruise's 2018 film 'Mission Impossible: Fallout' was significantly set in Paris.

The 2028 Summer Olympics will occur from July 14-30 in Los Angeles, which last hosted the Games in 1932 and 1984.
